Catching Crabs
Early one morning at a resort on the South coast of Upolu, a security guard called the front office from his post at the parking lot. He told the receptionist that there were two boys who wanted permission to go crab fishing on the property.
There was nothing wrong with crab fishing and the permission was granted. Soon the two boys were walking past the main building and to the staff's surprise, they realized that the crab fishers were only 5 and 10 years old. They were told that they just had been walking 7 km from the main road to catch the crabs for their family. The employees asked the boys to sit down and have breakfast first which they didn’t refuse.
After their stomachs were full, the boys left for their mission. Interested, the staff followed them to see if they really were going to catch the crabs. One hole after the other, the boys put their whole arms in the ground pulling many crabs out.
After a short while a woman approached who was the boys' mother. She had assumed that her sons had gone fishing as this is what they usually did together with their father. Today they considered themselves to be fully educated fishermen and wanted to do it by themselves. The boys stayed for lunch as well in exchange for a few crabs.
